Failed Back Surgery

FAILED BACK SURGERY PAIN RELIEF IN UP TO 2 VISITS, OR WE DON'T TAKE YOUR CASE!

Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS), what a bummer.

What a bummer it would be to go through all the pain and discomfort of surgery (we tend to forget that surgery hurts), only to wind up with the same or worse pain that you had before.  Sadly, this happens so much in the United States, that it has been named Failed Back Surgery Syndrome or FBSS. The term “post-laminectomy syndrome” is used by some doctors to indicate the same condition as FBBS.

We want you to know that there is still hope.  If you want to skip reading this and would like to move forward now, call our office immediately and We will get you in (810) 225-7246.  Otherwise, watch this testimonial and then, read on…

Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS), also called “failed back syndrome” (FBS), refers to chronic back and/or leg pain that occurs after back (spinal) surgery.  It is categorized as a chronic pain syndrome. Many things can contribute to the onset or development of FBSS. Some people have recurrent disc herniation, lasting post-operative pressure on a spinal nerve, altered joint mobility with instability, scar tissue, depression, anxiety, loss of sleep and deconditioning of spinal muscles.

If you have diabetes, vascular disease or autoimmune disease then these factors may alter your healing and results from spinal surgery.  Smokers are also at risk of poor recovery.

Here are some common symptoms for FBSS:

  • Dull and achy pain in the back and/or legs
  • Sharp, pricking or stabbing feeling in the arms and legs
  • Similar if not the same pain previous to surgery
  • Worsening of the original complaint
  • New complaints brought on by the weakness created by the surgery

From a neurological and biomechanical viewpoint, the immobility created by spinal surgery causes massive compensation in the brain and at other vertebral levels.  Simply put, you are over stressed and often times weaker in a different area than you went in to surgery to resolve.

Here is where our approach to spinal care can be helpful.  The new goal is to maximize what is left over.  First, we take some x-rays to see what has been altered.  We then study those films, do a complete neurological and  spinal exam.  Then we sit down and discuss our plan to get you feeling better in up to 5 days.  Healing will take longer, but you either notice results or we don't accept your case and you pay nothing.

In our office we use Trigenics non-surgical myo-neural procedure to reset the way the brain communicates with the muscles that move and support the back and hips.  The result is immediate relief of your pain, better movement and strength with accelerated healing time.

Patients treated with Trigenics often show a higher level of function, both during and after the treatment period.  Trigenics provides a tremendous alternative to those facing surgery or those who had surgery.

The most important thing to note is even though there may be a failed back surgery, there does not have to be a failed life or pain in the rest of the spine or body.
